Uzbekistan plans to join the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ISTFC) and the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investments and Export Credit (ICIEC).
On May 23, 2019, the government of Uzbekistan issued a decree “On measures to further develop cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank Group and the funds of the Arab Coordination Group”.
According to the document, Uzbekistan plans to complete domestic procedures for the accession to the ISTFC and the ICIEC.


As per the Nov. 12 presidential decree on extra non-working days during public holidays, the Children’s Day public holiday on June 1, Saturday was moved to June 6, Thursday.
Therefore, enterprises, institutions and organizations working five business days per week (Monday-Friday) will have a business day on June 1, Saturday.
Ramazan Hayit (Eid al-Fitr) is celebrated on June 5, so Uzbeks can enjoy two days off in a row.

The Russian government delegation headed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will visit Uzbekistan on May 29-30, the Foreign Ministry said.
The Russian Prime Minister will be hosted by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the visit, it is planned to hold in Urgench the first meeting of the Uzbek-Russian joint commission at the level of heads of government - a new format of bilateral cooperation established during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan and summit talks in October 2018.
The heads of the governments will sum up the 20th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, held on April 24, and discuss promising areas for further advancing trade and economic relations.
The visit program also includes a visit to Khiva.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today signed the Improving Anti-Corruption System in Uzbekistan Decree, which is aimed at improving the effectiveness of the anti-corruption system, creating the favorable business climate and improving Uzbekistan’s international reputation.
The decree has approved the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2019–2020 and the renewed composition of the Republican Interdepartmental Anti-Corruption Commission headed by the Chairman of the Senate Nigmatilla Yuldashev.
In accordance with the decree, commissions to combat corruption will be created within the Zhokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, provincial and Tashkent city councils of people's deputies, as well as district and city councils of deputies.
